The only reason I wouldn't book Manatee again is the erosion of the beach during our stay removed about fifty feet of beach frontage and eroded some of the dunes in front of the unit. I was certain that if the swells continued with that veracity through our whole stay, we'd be litterally at water's edge. It was a great view and the very closest unit to the water, but with the damage to the coast, I'll look for a property a little further back next time.

Manager Response:
Do consider that Winter storms, while not as glamorous as their Summer counterparts, can create storm surge and beach erosion. I'm happy to report that the water has receded and while erosion is something we'll always have to deal with at the beach it certainly not an immediate problem currently.

We were somewhat disappointed at the condition of the beach in the Shaoals area. Some visitors do not clean up after their bonfires, leaving the beach littered and the sand dirty. Some residents do not keep their pets on a leash and do not pick up their dog droppings. We had some days when the flies were so bad we could not walk anywhere but close to the shore. We recall how this beach used to be a pristine place with white sand.

Manager Response:
These are great comments and feedback for everyone to consider. We all share the beach and need to treat it as the treasure it is.

Kick plate on front door was hanging off when we arrived. We let your office know about it the next day, and it was quickly fixed. Also, one of the blinds from the back door was left lying on the downstairs sofa.
