We enjoyed the place, the neighbors were nice, and quiet, we were, howcver, upset when we opened the door the very first time we were me with a heavy odor of fresh smoke. Having stopped smoking in 1965 , this was upsetting to me, but it grdually dimished, and all in all, we had a good time. This ws our first time to stay in Mexico Beach, but we had been familiar with the town since the early 90's, and loved Apalachicola (disappointed that the trains were not running anymore, for I had been promised a ride on one of them, by the gen mgr. some time ago, and our trailer was destroyed by a hurricane, and I never got to take the trip(I am a railroad fan--my Dad worked for a railraod for over 50 years). Thanks for your interst in our opinion and we might well return someday.
Cordially yours,
G.W. (Dusty) Miller

We're certainly sorry to hear about your first impression of the house. We absolutely prohibit smoking inside any of our units. My only hope is that the possible smell was somehow brought in from the outside or possibly by a neighboring unit since we haven't had any report of this type before or after at the property. We do hope you return and appreciate your feedback.

Need new grill, grill utensils and access to internet. This unit was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. We love the Forgotten coast.

We have stayed in this unit for several years in a row, mainly because of the location. The unit is adequatly furnished, but the furnishings are in dire need of cleaning & some replacements. The mattresses are really in need of replacing, & the furniture really needs cleaning. The parking lot needs gravel, when it rains it has huge puddles.

We still prefer Luxury 6 but the view from Absolute Luxury was better. We will certainly come again as we have through many years. We were disappointed the water was so brown and the sun did not shine as much as usual, but understand that is because of all the inland rains and time of the year. This is our first trip in many years where we found NO Shells. This was a disappointment. If the choice is staying on this property due to our location preferences or not coming down we would certainly stay there.

The parking was not adequate. One set of neighbors parked a scooter on one side of their property, one Large SUV and a Van in the middle and a scooter on the other side, thus taking up 2-1/2 to 3 parking spaces. We most of the time had to park one of our vehicle's two blocks away. One of our vehicles was damaged with a ding on one of the doors and gold paint was left behind and one of our neighbors had a gold vehicle. As for the amenities, none were used because the instructions stated that the name on the card had to match the person using the amenity??? I would not stay in this property again because of the parking.

Manager Response:
I'm sorry to hear about the parking troubles you had. We would expect most neighbors to be accommodating but unfortunately not everyone feels like they have to follow the rules. You mentioned our amenities package; the name on the card does have to match the person reserving the amenity but doesn't exclude others in the party from participating. Please next time call us or ask ASI if you have any questions.

The couch hide away bed was broken and very uncomforable. Also the dryer had to be reset up to 3 times to get a load of clothes dry. otherwise, our stay was great!!!!!! We loved it!!!!!

I specifically picked out this particular property because of the location in reference to the pier. The reservations were made just a few weeks prior to our arrival, to my dismay we arrived to find a pier that had been closed since November. So while the title "Luxury by the Pier" is accurate there was a certain level of expectations that were not met as far as the property itself is concerned. The only good thing is that I am now in the rotation for this property and I have every reason to believe that the pier will be open on subsequent visits. Odds are very high that I would have made this very same reservation even with the knowledge of the pier being closed. However, it just would have been the right thing to do to let people know when a key landmark associated with a given property was not available.
Richard - Birmingham, AL
Manager Response:
While it's reasonable for you to assume that our reservation staff knew about the pier closure at the time of your booking I can assure you she didn't. In fact no one in the office was aware of the closure until you brought it to our attention. While we would proud to say that we're 100% aware of everything going on, even in a little area such as ours, unfortunately we're not. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience and know the information you received from our staff was genuine.

We have stayed in this property for several years in row, mainly due to its location. It is a great place to vacation, would really like to see nicer furniture in & out, but understand we are there only one month each year.

would like a larger TV in LR & a TV in the bedroom. Frying pans & bowls are needed. Couch needs replacing very badly, The hide-a-bed is not sleepable!! We stay in this unit every Feb. & these things have been needed for a long time.
