If this house was any closer to the ocean, it would need a boat motor. Literally, the last step off the porch is on the beach. It was VERY nice. It had enough seating in the kitchen to accommodate the 11 people it is advertised to. The house was very nice, especially considering the ammount of damage the other houses around have taken from last year's hurricane. The beach was clean and in great shape. Lots of seashells, and very few people. Plenty of parking under the house for 2 vehicles and boats. The bbq grill was one of the best I have ever used. The view from the porch is astounding with NOTHING blocking the view. The ocean waves can be heard inside the house at night with the a/c running. It was very peaceful. I slept in the upstairs master bedroom, and the bed was very comfortable. The a/c was adequate. It kept the home in the mid to upper 70s even with the sun pouring in through the windows. The home has huge windows on the main floor with great views from the kitchen/dining/living area. Outside water spigot was nice for washing sand off. The porch chairs were used every night for stargazing and meteor shower. I've stayed in 10 or so beachfront rentals in the port st joe area over the years, and this one is the nicest. I hope we can come back to this nice home again.
Great location on the Cape

This was our first visit to Cape San Blas, and we will be vacationing here again! Firstly, the home we originally rented was not finished with repairs after the hurricane. We were very grateful that Pristine Properties found a comparable property for us to stay instead of just cancelling our reservation. This home was in a wonderful location on the cape, with both bay and gulf views. The home is literally steps away from the beach, the outside stairway appears to be newly redone, and some pipes are still sticking out of the dune, so you need to step over them to get to the wood stairway. The home was very clean when we arrived, fresh towels on the table, and all beds were neatly made. The house is tastefully furnished, and seemed to be well stocked with everything we would need or want for a week at the beach. A few safety problems we encountered: both the front and back doors were unlocked, the beach side door doesn't lock and it appears that a wooden stick is the "official lock", the coffee maker worked sporadically: turned off and on at will, we finally just unplugged it. The carpet installation was poor quality. The tack strip was exposed and visible in many areas including the stairway and the doorway between the downstairs king bedroom and attached bathroom. Stepping on those tacks hurt! There were no exhaust fans in the bathrooms, this concerns me about mold in such a humid climate. The smoke detector was removed from the downstairs bedroom, loose wires are hanging from the ceiling where it should be. There is a loose deck board after the center landing, walking out the left side, the board only has one screw holding it in, causing it to move every time you take a step down. Other items to report: curtain rod hanging off wall in downstairs double bedroom, and the cabinets were full of extremely dirty dishes. We had to soak and scrub all items before using them. The dishwasher appeared to not be cleaning very well, which could explain some of the dirty dishes, but others looked like they were put in cabinets with no attempt to clean them. My husband cleaned the dishwasher filter and properly reinstalled it (it was sideways), but still the dishwasher isn't working properly. We ended up hand washing dishes all week. All dishes are cleaner than we found them. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, watching the sunsets off the deck or at the beach, the house is laid out very well for our party of 7. The online communications were very easy to follow with check in and check out, having the wifi password, and trash days available so we could take the trash out to the road. We very much appreciate Pristine finding us a house to stay in to save our vacation! We can't wait to come back to the Cape! (P.S. It may be helpful to have some signage posted on the refrigerator stating the CSB ordinances of not leaving beach gear out, lights off, etc. We noticed several houses on the beach that didn't participate in these practices. Perhaps they don't know, and a reminder in rentals could be helpful.)
