This is our 4th year staying at Jack’s Gulls, and we will be back next year! The beach is just across the street, and fishing is right in the backyard. My husband and children spent many hours on the dock catching a variety of fish. The house is well equipped for anything you need. Enough bedrooms and space for everyone to relax. We love this home and hope it’s available to rent for many years, it feels like a part of our family. Pat, the host is just so wonderful, he’s always available if there’s any issues and also called me personally when we stayed during a hurricane one year. If you’re looking for a beautiful home to have the most relaxing vacation, this is it. Just don’t tell everyone about our forgotten coast getaway- Reviewed On: 9/13/2025

Making New Memories
Growing up, my family has come to Indian Pass 10+ years and stayed in 5 different houses. A few years ago, my grandpa got sick, and we haven’t been back. This year, we got a wild hair and booked our trip. We initially booked this home due to the dock for fishing, but we have not stopped raving about the location, the cleanliness, the accessibility for children AND elderly, the beach access, and so much more. We are so grateful to be making new memories and will be back to our yearly trips and staying in this house again.- Reviewed On: 6/8/2024

This property feels like a home that has been loved. We had 8 people in our group, 6 adults 2 teens, and were very comfortable. The house is very spacious and looks so much better in person. The online photos dont do it justice. The location is very quiet and perfect if your a fishman. The house comes with crab traps and a place out side to boil them once you catch them, it was AWSOME!! Best Beach Location
We had the most amazing family vacation at Jack’s Gull. Our group consisted of 3 adults, and 4 children aged from infant to 4 years old. Not only is the house amazing, it’s spacious, and the location is wonderful. We had no problem getting to the beach with all 4 kids in tow. Plus, we fished right in the backyard in the lagoon. With the proximity to the beach, we didn’t have to haul a bunch of stuff, if we needed or wanted something, it was just a 5 minute walk back to the house. We had plans to see the area and eat dinner out a few times, but the kitchen is so well equipped, that we cooked every meal at the house. The gas range was a dream to cook on. At night after the kids were in bed, the adults enjoyed time on the front porch, which faces the ocean, listening to the waves crash, and watching the shrimp boats. We are already planning our next family vacation to Jack’s Gull. The property manager Pat was great as well, prompt with communication, and very friendly overall. Thank you for everything Pat, we can’t wait to come back!- Reviewed On: 8/14/2022

Jack’s Gull’s was the perfect stay for our family, ranging in age from 8 to 73. Plenty of space and bathrooms for all, very few stairs for older folks, fisherman’s dream in the lagoon and off the boat ramp, and perfect swimming right across the street. No need to pack the car to go to beach!! Beds have very comfy mattresses and cleanliness was wonderful. Kitchen nicely stocked, crab traps ready to go on the dock, fish cleaning station! I could go on and on. The only thing this property needs is a better photographer because the online pictures do it no justice! I could sit among the live oaks, palms and magnolia trees in the backyard all day… with bug spray of course!- Reviewed On: 6/11/2022

Old Florida at its Best!
We loved our stay at Jack's Gulls! There was plenty of room for all 11 of us. Everyone commented on the family friendly open floor plan, the gorgeous ceilings and beams, and private and secluded bedrooms. We enjoyed sunrise kayaking followed by coffee on the front porch overlooking the gulf beach. The beach access, and view, couldn't be better. We haul down a golf cart, so it was nice to be able to use it to carry our beach gear. Drawbacks... We love long talks at the table after dinner, so some slightly more comfortable dining chairs would not go amiss. We also could not get the porch fans to work. Aside from that, the home was everything we had hoped for. We are already planning our next booking. Thank you for opening your family vacation home to our family. I do wish it were available in October! hint hint- Reviewed On: 6/5/2022

Because if you do, you'll want to stay there, and that might make it harder for us to go back. Looks better in real life than it does in the pictures. Tons of space - 4 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom so nobody has to wait. Very nicely stocked kitchen, any/all small and large appliances you will ever need. We're not fishermen, but you can tell the place was designed in part to serve those needs. Special cleaning station, short walk to the fishing dock, propane fish cooker. Owner is easy to work with; got all the info we needed when we needed it without being intrusive. Check out is the best we've ever seen: take out trash, empty dishwasher, get your stuff, lock the doors. None of this collect the linens, wash the towels, sweep the floors, etc. that you frequently see at other places. We will be looking to return.- Reviewed On: 7/17/2021

Beautiful with quiet beach
Several of the adults in our family (7) recently spent a week at JacksGulls. The home is extremely well kept and we were amazed how well it was stocked with necessities. The quiet beach was awesome, and felt as though it belonged to us. Our stay was the first week of August and we didn't encounter more than a dozen people the entire week. Since the home is in such a rustic sitting, eating out took a little travel time (20 min,); but was worth it. Found good food at both San Cape Blas and in Port St, Joe. If your looking for a quiet retreat, and a place to get away from the business of life, this is it. (As indicated by previous reviews, you will definitely need bug spray if you're going to spend time on the dock. But if you can handle the mosquitos, there were fish jumping out of the water, just waiting to be caught.- Reviewed On: 8/17/2017

Thanks Pat for sharing your corner of paradise with us.
My crew fell in love from the moment we walked through the door. So spacious and inviting. We appreciate the fact that you have furnished and equipped your home for families to enjoy, but make no mistake, it is a gorgeous, tropical beauty. I have never been more impressed with a kitchen at a vacation home in my life. So well thought out and equipped. So much to enjoy at beach and lagoon. The wildlife and sea life is abundant and spectacular. The privacy is something my family appreciates and cherishes. My ONLY complaint is that the week went by too fast. Two weeks next year! Blessings to you and your family.- Reviewed On: 7/28/2017

Much nicer in person!
We loved staying at Jack's Gulls!! It was much nicer and larger than the photos make it look. The cookware in the kitchen was great too, very well organized, and the pantry was HUGE! The only improvements the house needs are DVD players with each TV. The one in the main living room also didn't read DVD's well. We had to put the DVD in and take it out several times to get it to work. Maybe it needs to be cleaned or just replaced with a newer one? Also, if you are coming, plan to bring A LOT of bug spray. The bay side has a ton of mosquitoes in the summer! The screen porches prevent them from getting in the house though. That was nice! Even with these two things, I would still stay there again! It was very nice and VERY convenient to the beach! Our family rented a golf cart to drive over but it really wasn't necessary. The walk is fairly flat too! We have stayed in houses that were gulf front and had longer walks and lots of stairs. This was much easier!- Reviewed On: 6/5/2017

The beach was beautiful and peaceful with very few other people around. The house was perfect. Great time was had by all!
We stayed at Jack's Gulls from Thursday, November 3 through Sunday, November 6, 2016. We came down to go to the Seafood Festival in Apalachicola, but the house may have been the best part of the trip. The short walk to the beach was awesome and watching the sunset from the Crow's nest in the house was breathtaking. Screened in porches front and back allow for bug free enjoyment of the phenomenal weather. The layout of the house could not be more perfect. We had three couples and everyone had their own bathroom. The spacious kitchen was awesome for food prep. We can't wait to come back! We are planning another trip this summer and we plan on bringing the boat so we can take advantage of the dock out back in the lagoon. Wonderful home! I would not hesitate recommending this house!- Reviewed On: 11/22/2016

Wonderful Property
We had an almost perfect stay at Jack's Gulls. Vacationing with my son's family which included 2 thirteen year olds and a toddler, there were 7 of us total. We were able to put the baby in a back bedroom with his parents across the hall. The owners found a place where we could rent a crib which worked out beautifully. The 2 teens had it made with a sitting room and bathroom to themselves upstairs. The home was just as advertised. We had needlessly worried about the home's condition after reading a review just prior to our stay. We had no plumbing problems. The ice maker was noisy but no big deal. The house was obviously well thought out when it was built and was beautifully furnished. The bay in back was perfect for the kayaks we rented from Dalys Dock, which I highly recommend. Fishing proved to be a disappointment. Only catfish were caught with the exception of a lone red fish found feasting on crab in the trap. While fishing from the dock one night we did observe a rather large shark, circling and feeding for quite a while. Maybe he ate all the fish. Ha! A trip to St Vincent proved to be just as bad. We had hoped to do a little hiking there but the mosquitos were too bad to do so. We did however find some good shells. The last day was spent on a fishing charter which did produce a couple triple tail and red fish. Dinner was wonderful that night! The mosquitos seemed to have gotten worse towards the end of the week, something that couldn't be helped. As someone who loves to cook, I found the kitchen very well equipped. The pantry was large enough to visibly store a week's worth of food. Most meals were grilled at the house but we also enjoyed local fare. Beach was easily accessible, just a short walk across the street. Surf was too rough for the little one but the teens enjoyed the waves. Perfect though for relaxing, walking, sunning, shelling. This is not the place to go if you want to be entertained and to party. That was the main reason we chose Indian Pass. Our time was mainly spent enjoying precious time with kids and grandkids. Especially liked sitting on the front porch late at night, feeling the ocean breeze and marveling at the star studded night sky. Ideal for letting cares of hectic lives slip away if only for a short time. Sorry to leave. Highly recommend for those who are seeking relaxing vacation with family or friends Hope to return someday, maybe a different time of year for better fishing and hiking.- Reviewed On: 8/10/2016

BEST VACATION HOUSE EVER!!
DO NOT THINK THIS IS A SMALL HOUSE BY LOOKING AT THE OUTSIDE, VERY DECEIVING... OUR PARTY OF TEN HAD MORE ROOM THAN ANY HOUSE WE'VE STAYED IN. THE HOUSE HAS EVERYTHING YOU COULD ASK FOR! LARGE ROOMS WITH THEIR OWN BATHROOMS AND HUGE SHOWERS, LARGE KITCHEN WITH 2 ICE MAKERS AND CUTTING BLOCK, 2 BIG DINING ROOM TABLES, A WALK IN PANTRY WITH TONS OF SHELVING, SEPARATE LAUNDRY ROOM WITH SHELVES, GREAT INTERNET AND CABLE TV, A DOCK TO CATCH FISH AND CRAB, OUTSIDE SHOWER WITH HOT WATER, ENCLOSED FISH CLEANING STATION(NO BUGS), A GRILL AND FISH COOKER, AND A WONDERFUL AND CARING OWNER(CALLED TO CHECK ON US WHEN A TROPICAL STORM HIT THE AREA) I ALMOST WANT TO JUST KEEP THIS HOUSE MY OWN LITTLE SECRET! What a great house. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
We caught crabs using the traps provided and the grandkids loved going to check them every few hours. We all had a lot of fun and we thank Mr. Thompson for sharing this retreat. We also encountered a box turtle, named it Georgie", every morning crossing the driveway to catch bugs and a raccoon at night to see if we left any snacks it could steal. The kitchen is well stocked for families like us, that cook real food. Loved the screen porches! The lagoon was ok for fishing but we found better action at the beach standing about knee deep and casting out Lots of wildlife in the ocean and hardly anyone was on the beach with us. Jack's Gulls is a fabulous place to vacation. The house has everything you need to be luxuorously comfortable. We caught fish off the dock and at all the other great locations nearby, then prepared awesome meals in the well appointed kitchen. For a group of retired guys, the house was easy to access. No, stairs to climb just to get inside. Afternoon porch time was hard to beat as well. I would highly recommend this place and hope to do it again. Wonderful, relaxing, and nice fish leaning station
This is a beautiful open and spacious house! Everything you need plus more! Very long private dock with a bench at the end. Tons of blue crabs to catch off the dock for your little one to catch. It is a shallow area, but we had a blast! We brought our paddle boards and paddled to the end of the lagoon with 7+ dolphins. They love to play w/you on the boards. Plus the fishing is great! Jacks Gulls is our favoriate Beach House!
We love Jacks Gulls and always try to stay here when we go to Indian Pass. This is a beautiful home with great views, porches, nice dock and very well equipted kitchen. It is always a pleasure to stay with friends here. The bedrooms are all large with their own spacious baths. Two have their own porch. No fighting over who gets the master here because all of the bedrooms are like a master. When we stay at Jacks Gulls, feels like we are staying at a friends place not a beach rental. Everything is well thought out for your comforts. Thick towels, nice sheets, great mattress, good knives and pots and pans...these are things most places lack but not here. This is a peaceful place to sit on a screened porch with nature everywhere and listen to the waves while reading a book. The fishing is great and crabbing also. I would recommend this beach house for all ages. It will be a vacation that you will always remember.- Reviewed On: 4/11/2012

Fully stocked with great appliances, flatware, cookware, etc. You won't need to bring anything other than food to this house. The house is comforatble for large groups. Our group ranges from teenagers to seniors and everyone finds something to do. My husband especially loves the fishing dock and "boat/fish house". Plenty of room and open floor plan. This was the perfect place for our family! We are all about privacy @ the beach, and this fit the bill perfectly. Everything we enjoy doing was right @ our fingertips -- so much so that my husband never even left the house! The house is so much larger than the pictures depict. Even seeing it in person, you would never believe it is so large inside! We loved that each bedroom had its own private bath. The kitchen lacked nothing -- very nice appliances, utensils, and dishes; no junk. The outside screened fish-cleaning/frying area was Number One! The beach view and access is perfect; no wading through tons of condos or people. The screened-in porches were my favorite (perfect for reading my books)!
