My home is also in Grand Bend an I have come to Florida every winter for 25-plus years. My experience has been the exact opposite. I have felt welcomed and quite "at home" in all that time in the beautiful coastal city of Mexico Beach. The local residents and the snowbirds who return annually in happy anticipation of their stay here make my winter totally comfortable and enjoyable. I guess Panama City Beach is just the wrong destination for snowbirds such as us. Mexico Beach, in spite of the vast visible changes over the last 25 years, is still the best place to be!
